Honey is a viscous substance, aromatic and sweet, harvested by bees in the nectaries of flowers. It consists of different sugars, monosaccharides mainly (about 80% - predominantly fructose and glucose) and disaccharides (about 10% - mostly sucrose and maltose). It is still composed of aminoacids, enzymes, proteins, vitamins and minerals.

The physical characteristics of honey as viscosity, density, hygroscopicity and crystallization capacity are primarily related to the concentrations of the different sugars in honey, sugar from natural flowers.

Thus makes up a natural food that can be used as a sweetener and which excel in anti-inflammatory properties, soothing, digestive and energy.

The Colmeicentro, Beekeeping Abrantes, Lda., Is a family company with about 35 years old and is based in the central region of Portugal, Abrantes municipality.

It's a Honey Plant licensed by DGV, according to safety standards and food quality control HACCP installed and supervised by a food security engineer.

This license covers the entire laboring stage, from production, mining, packaging, packaging honey and bee products, to reach the final consumer, with direct sales or through distributor.

Produces and markets Honey, Pollen, Propolis, Bees, Queens, cellular waxes own molding and all kinds of beekeeping equipment used in the activity.

Makes transhumance and therefore reaps the various types of honey, depending on the existing flora in the crop area:

Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Milflores, Heather, Orange, and also produces honey organic production.
